The Law Offices of Carter & Carter is located in Lower Lake, California. Stephen C. Carter and Angela Carter are the owners of the business. Stephen C. Carter and Angela Carter met in law school at Pepperdine University School of Law. Pepperdine University is an American Bar Association accredited law school located in Southern California.

Even before graduating from law school, Stephen C. Carter worked to assist people in need of legal services by providing representation to farm workers in Southern California. Approximately ten years ago, Mr. Carter began his career in Lake County at the Lake County District Attorney’s Office. Later, he became a defense attorney and opened a law office in Lower Lake, California. Mr. Carter continued to pursue his interest in criminal law and became certified as a Criminal Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Carter is the only attorney in Lake County and Mendocino County to hold such an honor. In fact, he is one of only 357 such specialists in the entire State of California.

Angela Carter began her career in Lake County at Redwood Legal Assistance, where she was the staff attorney for the Clearlake office. Ms. Carter provided legal assistance in the areas of housing, family law and administrative law. A short time later, Ms. Carter was hired by a large San Francisco law firm to work in a satellite office in Santa Rosa. Angela Carter eventually left her employment in Santa Rosa and the Law Offices of Carter & Carter began.

The Law Offices of Carter & Carter engages exclusively in the private practice of criminal law, civil law, employment law, housing law, contracts and juvenile law. Most cases are attended to by both attorneys. Carter & Carter firmly believes that zealous and effective representation is furthered by combining the strengths of both attorneys and enabling the client to communicate with either attorney as needed.
